Falls Church, Va.
(AP) – A Falls Church man who was the subject of a viral video posted to Facebook is being sued for allegedly using the church as a home away from home and failing to provide the church with clean water.
The lawsuit filed Tuesday in Falls Church Superior Court says that while at his home in Falls City, Va., Joshua Prentice posted a video on YouTube showing a group of children at the church.
The video showed a child on the floor of the sanctuary.
The video caused a stir among the church community, with many calling for the man to be arrested and charged with violating child neglect laws.
Prentice is a resident of Falls City and is a former Falls City police officer who served on the Virginia State Police.
The Falls City Police Department said in a statement Tuesday that it had not been served with the lawsuit.
The statement said the department is reviewing the complaint.
The church was not immediately available for comment.
